Naramata
What a week. Trish took a writing course and I played Mr. Mom in the morning with India. It was an incredible experience and we cannot wait to do it next year.
Kelowna
Stopped in Kelowna for 2 nights to hang out and spend some time with my good friend Sylvain and his family.
Barkerville
On our last day in PG we went to Barkerville. Much of the family also came along. It was a great day with the kids....
DoubleMac Farms
While in PG we went up to visit my good friend John MacDonald and his family. He has beautiful acreage up on the hill. I wish we had more time...India just loves the animals:
Summer Vacation - Prince George
What a wonderful visit. Our first night we went to a potluck at my Uncle Alain's and then the next day was the 4rth Annual LeFebvre Golf Tournament.

Merridale Cidery
Trish's Aunt Betty is in town visiting from London Ontario. Like last year we again went out to the Cidery to each their fine food and beverages. This place is ideal for children; with it's vast orchards for the children to run in and their faerie villages they can explore, there is literally no end to the fun that can be had.

Welcome Aboard
Career Opportunities
BC Ferries is always on the lookout for customer focused, hard working team players. Apparently I am now one of those players. I have recently accepted employment with BCFerries starting August 28th. This is fantastic in that I now have a month off before I start work. This enables me to decompress from my time at the Bean and be fresh for my new opportunity.
The job opportunity was described as:
Your responsibilities will be assigned from time to time and more specifically your Key Result Areas shall generally include:
- Follows project management best practices, oversees the planning, analysis, design, implementation and closure processes;
- Advises and actively contributes to the resolution of business problems by matching information technology to meet business requirements;
- Contributes to the development of the client’s short and long term strategic plans;
- Identifies inter-dependencies, conflicting requirements and overlapping impact on business processes and ITSS services and architectures across projects;
- Conducts project post mortems and creates a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements administration and communications; and
- personal characteristics/expectations.
I am quite sure that this is going to be a fantastic opportunity. Also one of the great benefits from this job is unlimited free ferry travel....looking forward to taking advantage of that. In addition I will be able to walk to work and the work environment is pretty relaxed (read no ties!!).

Mitchel's 4rth Birthday Party
What a great end to our Camp Pringle weekend! We were invited to Mitchel's birthday party at Goldstream Park. The theme was 'firefighters' and rescue workers!
Camp Pringle - May 2006
Well this was our second time at Camp Pringle and it was again a wonderful experience. Camp Pringle is an United Church owned and run summer style camp on the shores of Lake Shawnigan (half an hour north of Victoria). It's a beautiful spot and it was fantastic. The whole weekend is about the kids and for the kids.

Easter Egg Hunt 2006
What a morning. We got up early before Church and hid Easter eggs throughout Trish's garden. India's little friend Scarlet also came over to enjoy the festivities. It turned out awsome...they both had a wonderful time.
India at the Beach - Part #1
One of India's favourite activities is going to the beach. Thank heavens it is also one of her Mom's favourite activities as well!! I wasn't here for this little journey but Trish took some awesome photos:
She could play in the sand all day.......check out the photo show below for more photos:

Twisting India
Here is the update on India. As some of you know India has been doing this twisting 'thing' (see attached video) since she was 5 months old. Mostly this was confined to the high chair but over the last 4 months it's regularity has increased. We finally decided to have this looked at by her doctor which led to a referral to Neurology Pediatrics Specialist on the Island. It appeared we would not get to see that person for a month or two so her doctor requested that we see a specialist in Vancouver.
We went over to Childrens hospital last week for one day to meet with the specialist. Well as it turned out we met with two specialists for almost 4 hours! They were incredibly thorough and we felt well taken care of. From this visit they decided that we would need to get some blood work done and we would come back to Children's for this past Thursday and Friday for additional tests. On Thursday we had the EEG (this is her second). This is not alot of fun for India as she needs to be sleep deprived (not a happy camper) and then all these connector nodes need to be pasted to her head. No fun but she did well and fell asleep right away.
That afternoon we took her to the aquarium and had a great time.
Friday was the MRI and for that she needed to be on a fast for both food and liquids. She got bumped a spot so we didn't actually get the MRI until about 10:30 am. For this she was put completely out....again no fun as it meant another needle. However she did admirably. She also needed a lumbar puncture to take some spinal fluids but this was done right after the MRI while she was still under. After this we were taken to recovery but she still couldn't have fluids as the doctors ordered even more blood tests!!! Poor thing.......here she is tired, hungry and thirsty and we couldn't give her anything. Finally after the blood was taken (after much crying - oh what a brave little girl) we were able to give her something to drink.
Anyway later that afternoon we met with the Neurology Pediatrics Specialist, Dr. Shelby, who proceeded to tell us that all tests came back normal however they were still waiting on a few blood tests but fully expecting them to come back normal. So the long and short of it is that they cannot see from their tests and investigation any indication that this behaviour is being caused by something physical. If the rest of the tests come back negative then they believe it may be a behavioural issue. They will then recommend us to a pediatric Psychologist who will help us to find out the source of the behaviour and then potential strategies to modify it. Trish and I remain to be convinced that this is the case but we remain open minded and will do whatever is necessary for her.
So we will keep you all up to date with all the new information we have when we have. We love you all and thank you for your prayers.
Love,
Michael

Family Get Together
This was the second to last night that Mom and Dad were here. What a visit!
I just love having them here....I keep telling them that they are welcome to stay for a couple of months!

India also had a great time with them. Every morning the first thing she would say is: "Where is MY Grandma and Grandpa!".
Dad and I went to playgroup their first weekend here. Here are some pictures from that experience:The next weekend I went to Dad and Tots at my local community centre and India also had a great time. Check out the photos below:
I aplogize for not updating this blog in a long time. I will venture to be more diligent in the future.
Love to all!

Self Portraits
India has discovered the camera. She now will pick up anything approximating a camera and start saying cheese and get you to pose. I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of ourselves hanging out.....she loved it!
Hanging At the Park
One of my most enjoyable things to do is go to the park with India. Like most kids she just loves it there. She runs from the slide to the swing to whatever in pure unabashed wonderment....it truly is a gift to be able to see life through that of a childs. I believe this is one of the greatest rewards as a parent is this opportunity to glimpse back into the joy we once felt as children...it is pure, lovely and incredibly enjoyable!!

Bathtime with India
India's favourite activity by far is bath time. She would take 5 baths a day if we let her.
She loves the bubbles. Click here to see the whole bath photo shoot.Saturday, November 12, 2005
Play
Our little girl loves to play. She obviously is not alone with this infatuation as most kids her age are also totally into playing. I thought I would capture a couple of pictures of her running around in Trish's entryway:

Weekend
Well it was an important weekend in that it was the first time that I had India over for the whole night without Trish. This was for more for when Trish felt comfortable to be away from India for a night rather than India. As it turns out the night fantastic with India waking up once at 11:00 pm, I got her back down, and then the next thing I remember is here tickling me at about 2:00 am....pretty funny. Moe likely she was poking me to wake me up rather than tickle me but I choose the latter :-).
